1. Ellen Mueller and Phil McCollam - Demarcation: Cairns Shore

0:57 2013 Demarcation (2013) is a collaborative series I executed with Phil McCollam while on an artist residency in Iceland, summer 2013. This work is critical of human impulses to control or mark natural settings. These markings range from quite ephemeral, such as markings in sand or arrangements of feathers, to slightly sturdier structures, including mountain-side cairns and shoreline rock arrangements. https://ellenmueller.com/ - http://philrules.com/

3. Meredith Leich - Scaling Quelccaya

7:35 2017 A collaboration between filmmaker Meredith Leich and glaciologist Andrew Malone, the film Scaling Quelccaya weaves together two distant places: the melting Quelccaya glacier in Peru and the city of Chicago. As the world’s largest tropical glacier, Quelccaya and its rapid retreat is currently studied by scientists around the world. Using 3D animation, satellite imagery, archival NASA footage, and speculative math, this short “docufantasy” film tells a visual story of how scientists observe our changes to our climate, expanding into a surreal, animated meditation on the future of our interconnected world. http://meredithleich.com/

7:09 2011 LIONS AND TIGERS AND BEARS, OH MY! WUTUP INTERNET! THIS YA BOY, HENNESSY YOUNGMAN, AKA MR. AKA's, AKA THE PHARAOH HENNESSY, AKA HENROCK THE MONARCH. TODAY I TOOK MY CHAINS OFF AND DECIDED TO INVESTIGATE THE ELUSIVE SUBLIME. NOW I KNOW THE SUBLIME AIN'T TOO INTELLECTUALLY HIP, AND THOSE WHO FIND IT HIP AREN'T NOBODY YOU WANT TO SPEND TIME WITH, BUT NONE THE LESS I THINK IT'S IMPORTANT TO DELVE INTO ARCHAIC PHILOSOPHICAL NOTIONS IN ORDER TO UNDERSTAND HOW WE ARRIVED WHERE WE ARRIVED TODAY IN THE PRESENT. ANYWAY, ENOUGH FROM ME: LET'S GO! http://jaysonmusson.com/

6. Ruoyi Shi - A record of an archeological discovery of water and its resurrection

8:00 2019 I use my tentacle that is made out of water to find a link between the world that surrounds me right now and the memories of adventure that only I know. No matter if it is humidity or moisture, I sense water to discover the unknown; Just like water has no fixed form, I hold different identities when facing water. I seek the trace of water anywhere I come across, as an archaeologist, an explorer, a stranger, a human being, or even an object. I talk with and attempt to build relationships with water, taking care of it and sometimes accidentally causing its rebirth. The world is covered with” truths” that I can’t understand. I have to use my tentacle to sense the real truth. As the witness and a liaison of the hidden world, I attach consumer objects, uncontrollable nature, and myself together with ropes and words; to recreate the hidden world in this twisted reality.

7. Lindsey French - Phytovision Series

0:40 to 2:00 2016 / 2018-2019 Phytovision invites the viewer to adopt a plant-centered perspective, with video tailored for plant perception. Many plants can perceive light in the color spectrum of reds and blues. Shot at a high frame rate, the camera for slow sublime is turned away from more historically imaged vistas and toward small weeds and forest flowers. These vignettes present a "plants-eye-view" of these sublime landscapes. old growth consists of video portraits of white pine, hemlock, fern and forest flowers of an old growth forest on land of the Seneca nations ceded in a disputed treaty, currently known as Cook Forest. https://lindseyfrench.com/

AN INDIVIDUAL THROWS A FLASHLIGHT INTO LAKE MICHIGAN, WHERE IT IS LEFT TO FLOAT BENEATH THE SURFACE OF THE LAKE. this endless searching I will search no more this looking for guidance I will look no more this inquiry for advice advice is nontransferable and no one apparently knows this I will lead myself I will lead myself adrift sapience? animal instinct is almost always a better guide enlightenment? I'll feel my way forward through this abyss answers are a useless pursuit questions are the best answers to questions without answers ineffable, intrinsic, private, and immediately apprehensible it finally occurred to me ...that all the things I've been painstakingly attempting to ...communicate with you ...are quite impossibly ...qualia
