Tumbleweed Rodeo II

Eric Simpson

May 5 - 26, 2023

Tumbleweed Rodeo II uses GPS trackers to follow the vectors of movement of wind-blown tumbleweeds as they traverse the southern plains of Texas. The exhibition presents maps, videos, and live feed GPS tracking- which will be transmitted directly to the gallery for a one-night event.

The exhibition also presents a few recent works by Eric Simpson as he explores the largest underground water source in North America - the Ogallala Aquifer. These works engage with the mystery of this subterranean formation and its extraction for production agriculture in the Southern Plains of Texas.
