I’d like to send my self to the bottom of it.
To rest distributed and rumbling, cascading and muddying, as though
you’d run your hand through me.

Zonas de Convergencia                                                        Convergence Zones
written by Laura Magdiel Escobar (excerpt)

Beneath this surface on which we stand, there is a constant circular movement. A spiraling cycle. Magmatic particles near the nucleus heat up and rise to Earth's upper mantle; they cool, densify and descend back to the nucleus. These flows intersect.

Over this surface on which we stand, there is a spiraling cyclical movement. Masses of icy air densify in the stratosphere and descend, due to their weight, towards the earth. They heat up, disperse, ease, and rise again. These flows intersect.

Deep in the sea, below the surface where we still cannot stand, there are particles that dance in a long vertical cycle. From the sea floor, very slowly, subterranean waters rise 11,000 meters to the surface of the sea. In between horizontal, cut and irregular displacements, they gradually descend back to the depths. These flows intersect.

These silent events are called Convergence Zones.
