Join us Friday, August 4th for the first Summer ArtWalk from 5 to 9PM.

Exhibition Dates: August 4 - 28, 2023

Live Performance at 7PM during the Opening on Aug. 4

The Neon Heater presents a new installation by Ann Trondson, titled

DIAMOND/TRONDSON || TRONDSON\DIAMOND

This immersive exhibition of moving images, performance, and drawings will explore how astral (and video) projections might allow for literal and metaphysical “star”gazing and shape-shifting.

In August of 2003, Trondson staged an untitled art performance at the now defunct Basement Gallery in Los Angeles. Twenty years later, she returns to this work; a revisit but not a copy, an out-of-body experience multiplied, embodying Neil Diamond and her “as was” self; both of them doubled, mirrored, and multiplied.

Ann Trondson is a Toledo, Ohio-based multidisciplinary artist whose work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions, including Austin Peay Terminal Gallery, Nashville, TN; C for Courtside, Knoxville, TN; Salon 94, New York, NY; Louis B. James Gallery, New York, NY; College for Creative Studies, Detroit, MI; MAK Center of Art and Architecture, Los Angeles, CA; and Palm Spring Art Museum, Palm Springs, CA. In 2023, Trondson will be exhibiting at Wiregrass Museum of Art, Dothan, AL and at the Neon Heater, Findlay, OH. She has participated in artist residencies at Banff Arts Centre, Banff, Canada; Terra Summer Residency, Giverny, France; and the Guesthaus Residency, Los Angeles, CA. She received her MFA from the University of Southern California and currently is the Co-Director of Vinegar, an artist-run, women-led nonprofit in Birmingham, AL that champions and exhibits artists who work in emerging and experimental art forms that push the boundaries of its medium. Vinegar opened its first permanent exhibition space, Vinegar Contemporary, in 2020.
